Business view: Vinacom came to us with huge wine expertise and a great concept. It required a robust failure-safe architecture and the ablity to scale rapidly once their pilot scheme became a nationwide rollout. Vinacom wanted a way to get useful wine information into the hands of supermarket shoppers – to in-store kiosks built by NV Interactive – and from us, a way to create, collect, synchronise, manage and send that information from one central point.
Technical view: Collaborative systems architecture with NV Interactive. Establishment of a centralised SQL Server database with admin screens built automatically using our custom-built tool. Provision for stock list aggregation, wine information creation and maintenance of synchronized (SQLite) databases on remote Adobe Flex Winefinder kiosks in supermarkets. Web services connect data synchronisation calls.

Business view: NZTA wanted a system to help importers comply with a new requirement to provide fuel consumption data for the cars they imported. The success case for the project stipulated that there be zero complaints from importers at the new requirement. We successfully worked with NZTA to create a series of point-and-click steps that matched a car on the dock with records in the fuel consumption database. There were no complaints!
Technical view: Design and creation of a PHP-based lookup site to the SQL Server-based Fuel Consumption Database, connected via web services, containing rapid validation options to match the imported vehicle to known data.
