Business view: Victoria Accommodation Services help arrange temporary accommodation for students newly arriving in Wellington. As they started to bring new buildings into operation, their administration system needed to cope with the different choices that were now available. We made adjustments to make make the system a lot more flexible.
Technical view: Dependency analysis, adjustment and testing of newly flexible inputs to a custom-built .NET admin system over an SQL Server database. Included adjustment to system-generated email trails.

Business view: Victoria University Press produces a wide range of books, of both general and specialist interest. We took their static HTML catalogue and made it much more usable. We also added a shopping cart and an ordering facility to handle both local and international orders — and an easy-to-use back-end administration system.
Technical view: Importation of VUP’s Excel-based catalogue to a SQL Server database, plus the inevitable data cleaning. Construction of business rules to handle complex freight charges. Integrated with redesigned front-end custom-built search, a shopping cart and a payment gateway, and addition of a back-end customised administration system based on our dbAdmin tool.

Business view: The New Zealand Law and Literature/Law and Visual Media Database aims to explore the nature of legal references in New Zealand fiction. Dr Grant Morris, Senior Lecturer in Law at Victoria University of Wellington, wanted a simple way to enter, maintain and present the information online to academics, students, lawyers, writers and members of the general public.
Technical view: Database and screens built with dbAdmin, our tool for generating presentation and administration screens for SQL Server databases. Work included assisting with data cleaning.

Business view: Victoria wanted students , both domestic and international, to be abe to calculate the cost of their studies as they choose courses. Students can also come back later and resume the calculator where they last left off.
Technical view: .NET application, integrated with the Course Catalogue. Calculator instance data held in SQL Server and made retrievable via email address.

Business view: Victoria’s online enrolment system was hard to use and poorly integrated with the institution’s other systems. Victoria wanted it to be faster and easier for students to use, more reliable, and to require less intervention by University administration staff.
Technical view: Redevelopment of online enrolment system for University including front-end build, integration with webservices provided by Oracle application server and integration with Oracle-based image/file services.

Business view: Victoria International and Victoria Accommodation Services required a solution that would allow then to co-ordinate the arrival of international students in Wellington with a meeting service, shuttle services, and with temporary or permanent accommodation.
Technical view: .NET-based web application to receive information about and manage the student’s accommodation needs (including administration). Consists of a workflow between students and multiple University departments, along with outputs to shuttle providers.

Business view: Victoria Accommodation Services help students arrange accommodation in Halls of Residence. They needed a facility to manage the process of vetting students with references from students’ high schools, which had to be printable after being submitted in an online form. This private facility also had to manage secure logins for each school.
Technical view: Creation of a secured form and deployment of our .NET-based database administration tool to manage login details for each school. Use of a custom-built .NET-based tag to submit any plain HTML form to a database, with the addition of javascript to recreate the completed form for read-only printing.

Business view: Victoria Accommodation Services help students arrange accommodation. To improve efficiency, they wanted to have reference data submitted about the students turned into a PDF document that was pre-formatted to match the common expectations of Halls of Residence.
Technical view: Design and generation of a formatted PDF version of reference data, collected through an online form on a .NET server.
